Official Selection DOC.Coimbra 2026

In its third edition, the DOC.Coimbra Festival presents a total of 65 films from 33 countries. Most of the documentaries, which have never been shown in Portugal, will be screened over the course of 38 sessions. There will be 18 feature films and 37 short films in competition.
DOC.Coimbra runs from March 17 to 22, with sessions at TAGV, IPDJ Auditorium, Círculo Sereia-CAPC, and Casa da Esquina.
The films have been divided into the following competitive sections: International Short Films; International Feature Films; and Lusophone Films (short and feature). Eight short films have also been selected for the Educational Program to be held in partnership with Anozero'26 Biennial of Coimbra.
The Opening Session will take place on March 17, at 6:30 p.m., at TAGV, with a concert by Filipe Furtado Trio, followed by the screening of the opening film Mamã Guiné (Portugal, Guinea-Bissau), by Maurício Franco and Filipe Traslatti.

The Closing Session and awards ceremony will take place on March 22, preceded by the screening, at 6:00 p.m., of the film Criaturas Da Mente (Brazil) by Marcelo Gomes.

Anozero'26 Educational Program
With the theme of ancestry, migration, and displacement, in partnership with Anozero'26 Biennial of Coimbra, eight sessions will be held for schools and young people as part of the educational program. There will also be a series of four workshops curated by CES-UC, with special guests who work on the themes of ancestry, migration, and displacement, and who bring these themes up to date in the contemporary world. The sessions will take place at Círculo Sereia - CAPC.
