Visual Artists
from the Central Region
Applications may fall under one of the following categories:
Projects already completed
- Submission of works or visual languages already developed by the artist that can be adapted to the visual identity of DOC.Coimbra 2027, provided that the final proposal submitted under this call for entries is unpublished, original, and has not been previously published, exhibited, or used commercially;
Original Works
- Proposals based on an original creative process to be developed following selection, in consultation with the festival team and in accordance with the schedule set by the organization.
How to submit your application
Access the online form on the festival’s website. Prepare and attach all required documents to the form, including:
- Letter of Motivation (maximum of 2,000 characters), clearly explaining the artist’s motivation for wanting to participate in this creative and collaborative process with the Doc. Coimbra festival;
- Portfolio: PDF with a maximum of 15 pages - 150 dpi resolution: Minimum of 5 projects;
We recommend that each project be presented with a main image and some details, showing the technique used or color palette;
For each project submitted, include a footnote:
A brief description of the process and the project concept; (1 to 2 paragraphs)
- Resume - 1 A4 page maximum - minimum font size 11;

Artists from all areas of the visual arts and graphic arts (illustration, photography, collage, painting, typography, hybrid practices, etc.) are eligible to apply.

There is no age limit.

There are no restrictions based on nationality.

Applicants must reside in the Central Portugal region as of the application date. (see municipalities)

We value candidates with an interest in or experience with collaborative processes, co-creation, and interdisciplinary dialogue.

Individual or group applications;

Members of the organization, jury members, or their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
