SINOPSE:
Um homem recorda a mãe. Ela falava-lhe de um lugar mítico, a praia. Em Suave Mar, o banheiro mergulhava as crianças nas ondas entre gritos e gargalhadas, as rendas e os fatos de banho estavam na moda e as pessoas pediam ao mar para viverem para sempre. Enquanto isso, o fotógrafo percorria o areal na tentativa de registar uma sociedade à beira da decadência.
SYNOPSIS:
A man recalls his mother. She used to tell him about a mythical place, the beach. In Soft Sea, the bathman would immerse the children in the waves amid screams and laughter, lace and swimsuits were in fashion, and people asked the sea to make them live forever. Meanwhile, the photographer walked along the sand, attempting to capture a society on the brink of decay.

Sara N. Santos, realizadora e editora. É mestre em Comunicação Audiovisual e licenciada em Cinema Documental. O seu trabalho cruza a manipulação de arquivos com a encenação de memórias, explorando os limites entre documentário e ficção. Exibidos em mostras e festivais nacionais e internacionais, os seus filmes assumem a montagem como gesto poético e político. Em 2023, foi selecionada para o apoio à criação artística pela Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian.

Sara N. Santos is a filmmaker and editor. She holds a Master’s degree in Audiovisual Communication and a Bachelor’s degree in Documentary Film. Her work combines archival manipulation with the staging of memory, exploring the boundaries between documentary and fiction. Screened at national and international festivals and exhibitions, her films approach editing as both a poetic and political gesture. In 2023, she received artistic creation support from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
