SINOPSE:
Um pugilista gigante da pequena cidade de Ovar que se sagrou campeão de Portugal e viajou até aos EUA para lá encontrar um rival, não conquistou o título de Campeão do Mundo e ultimamente foi esquecido pela sua terra natal... Mas anos mais tarde o artista e ilustrador Xavier Almeida deu vida a José Santa Camarão através da sua banda desenhada. O filme conta sobre a ligação entre o artista e um pugilista, a história de ser o número dois no desporto e como a realidade se transformou em ficção.
SYNOPSIS:
A giant boxer from little city of Ovar who became a champion of Portugal and traveled all the way to the USA to find a rival there, didn't achieved World Champion's title and lately got forgotten by his homeland... But years later an artist and illustrator Xavier Almeida brought Jose Santa Camarao to life through his comic book. The film tells about connection between the artist and a boxer, story of being number two n sports and how reality transformed into fiction.

Os seus créditos cinematográficos incluem documentários para a TV5 França.Como realizador, a sua curta-metragem As If There Was the Sea venceu o Grand Prix em Bastau e seleções oficiais em festivais internacionais. O “Santa Camarão” é uma humilde homenagem a Portugal

Levan Sikharulidze is a Georgian director and cinematographer based in Lisbon, and co-founder of Nomad Elephant. He has worked on international productions including Renny Harlin’s 5 Days of War and on Otar Iosseliani’s Chant D’Hiver. His cinematography credits include documentaries for TV5 France. As a director, his award-winning short As If There Was the Sea won the Grand Prix at Bastau and official selections on international festivals. His "Santa Camarão" is a humble tribute to Portugal.
