Através dos retratos de três homens e de uma família beduína palestiniana, o filme traça um Abel imaginário, o pastor de rebanhos. Na busca pelo arquétipo do conflito, Abel expressa a sua luta pela sobrevivência numa sociedade onde paira a sombra de uma guerra permanente.
