SINOPSE:
Noriko Oi regressa a Nagasaki para esvaziar a casa da família, que em breve será vendida. Através das memórias da sua infância, Noriko tenta reconstruir o passado da sua mãe, uma sobrevivente da bomba atómica, na esperança de amenizar as lembranças sombrias de uma herança cultural trágica.
SYNOPSIS:
Noriko Oi returns to Nagasaki to clear out the family home, which is soon to be sold. Through the memories of her childhood, Noriko tries to reconstruct the past of her mother, a survivor of the atomic bomb, hoping to soothe the dark reminiscences of a tragic cultural heritage.

Em 2019, Laurence realizou um curta-metragem documental, PORT D’ATTACHE. O filme foi selecionado para o Visions du Réel, ganhou o prémio de Melhor Curta-Metragem Nacional no RIDM e foi nomeado para melhor curta-metragem na gala Québec-Cinéma. Em 2022, Laurence conclui um mestrado no qual reflete sobre a escrita documental e os modos narrativos que compõem a realidade. Ela ganhou o prémio Philippe-Ménard de melhor tese criativa. O seu primeiro longa-metragem, OKURIMONO (2024), teve a sua estreia mundial no Visions du réel.

In 2019, Laurence directed a short documentary, PORT D’ATTACHE. The film was selected at Visions du Réel, won the Best National Short Film Award at RIDM and was nominated for best short film at the Québec-Cinéma gala. In 2022, Laurence completes a master's degree in which she reflects on documentary writing and the narrative modes that make up reality. She won the Philippe-Ménard prize for best creative thesis. Her first feature film, OKURIMONO (2024), had its world premiere at Visions du réel
