DOC.Coimbra presents its new visual identity for the 2026 edition.

Doc.Coimbra – International Documentary Film Festival presents its new visual identity for the 2026 edition. For this challenge, we invited Angolan visual artist Babu, who used the serigraphy technique to bring to life a unique graphic universe, based on the power of manual gestures and the richness of African visual tradition.

The proposal is inspired by the Kikakui writing of the Mende people of Sierra Leone and the Adinkra symbols of Ghana, transforming them into icons that represent the words “DOC” and “documentary.” An identity that values cultural diversity, memory, and the power of images—principles that guide our festival.
