SYNOPSIS:
Within haunting cycles of mass production, human labor contrasts with the never-ending factory stock of coffins. In light of the exploitation of natural resources, this film longs for a moment of rest from the assembly line, while mankind continually buries itself in the remains of a material world.

Stefan KOUTZEV é um cineasta búlgaro radicado em Colónia. O seu trabalho explora a narrativa na intersecção entre roteiro, ficção, documentário e cinema experimental. As suas curtas-metragens Restbestand (2025), Hauspausen (2024) e Schwärmen (2020) foram exibidas internacionalmente em festivais como DOK Leipzig, Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin, Beijing International Short Film Festival e outros. A sua primeira longa-metragem, Why hasn’t everything disappeared, estreou no IFFR 2026.

Stefan KOUTZEV is a Bulgarian filmmaker based in Cologne. His work explores narrative storytelling at the intersection of screenwriting, fiction, documentary and experimental film. His short films Restbestand (2025), Hauspausen (2024) and Schwärmen (2020) have screened internationally at festivals including DOK Leipzig, Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin, Beijing International Short Film Festival and more. His debut feature Why hasn’t everything disappeared premiered at IFFR 2026.
